Large Canadian Donation Adds over $197K to OMF Research

Spring has brought more donations, especially this month. The Canadian family of a patient suffering from a neuroimmune disease has made a third large donation to our research. They donated $250K in Canadian dollars, which converts to $197,581 in US dollars.

ME / CFS is a disease that inflicts people all over the world. From the beginning, our foundation saw the importance of reaching out to patient groups and individual patients all over the world. See some of the comments these patients are making.

The ME / CFS Severely Ill-BIG DATA Study is aimed at answering some questions that no other scientists in any country has pursued: Can the disease process be more detectable in those whose disease is more severe? We think it will be. So we’re going in search of those patients to see what’s happening in their bodies that would cause ME / CFS symptoms.

Many see the obvious logic in this approach and are willing to support it. “We are grateful beyond words to our special donor champions!” said Linda Tannenbaum, our executive director.
